AIR POLLUTION CONTROL REAGENTS

SODIUM BICARBONATE: J Carpenter Environmental, LLC sells Church & Dwight's sodium bicarbonate products for acid gas control. While C&D is best known for its familiar orange boxed Arm and Hammer bicarbonate, its products for air pollution control have been used since the 1960's when the electric power industry discovered that sodium bicarbonate is effective for acid gas control when directly injected as a dry sorbent.

POWDERED ACTIVATED CARBON: J Carpenter Environmental, LLC sells Norit America, Inc. activated carbon products. Norit produces a wide array of carbon materials from a base feed stocks as peat, wood, lignite, coal, coconut shells and even olive pits.

JCE clients use powdered activated carbon for removal of dioxins and furans, formed during the cooling of the flue gases and to capture mercury. These pollutants can be effectively removed from flue gas streams before emission using Norit's Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) injection technology. PAC systems are available to rent for trials and to purchase.
